And now for the next part of my survey.....

What do you guys have for your average lunch? These days, me and the Whirler have got into the good habit of making some salads at the start of the week. These would be something like:

Pasta salad: red pepper, spring onions, olives, garlic, kindey beans, grated courgette, tomatoes, pesto, olive oil and herbs.

Cauliflower salad: Blanched cauliflower pieces, pineapple pieces, peanut butter.

Coleslaw: Cabbage, sweet potato, carrot, mayo.

We stick a dollop of each of these in a plastic takeaway tub with some green salad and a dollop of humus. Serve with an oatcake for humus-dunking and a couple of pieces of fruit, and the whole thing's not looking too shoddy. Any advances?

marmite and crisp sandwiches tend to work for me!

alongside a nice piece of fruit, maybe a soya yoghurt and some blackcurrent juice. if i've been cooking any vegan choccie treats i might have one of those aswell!

i never put salt in any of my food and i dont eat any processed or ready made meals. i know too much salt is bad for you, but i dont want a salt deficiency. it's almost as if my body tells me to eat marmite and crisps! i think it wants the salt coz otherwise i hardly get any!

i used to eat wotsits and dairylea. that was quite yummy.

Usually a piece of rye bread either with tahini or avocado or home made humous, or homemade soup.....

sometimes a salad with humous ..........I love crisps but try not to eat them

I have a filled roll from our sandwich lady at work - she does lush combinations like Mozzarella and Sweet Chilli's with sundried tomatoes mmmmmmm mmmm mmmmmmm - if I have time I make myself a greek salad to take into work - make sure I put olives in the tub with a good handful of mixed pumpkin, sunflower seeds, peanuts and pine nuts - I have that with a couple of rice cakes :)

Anything vaguely salady that fits between 2 slices of bread. But it does spoil the idea without pepper, because it seems to be the make or break of the idea for me. Failing that, granary crusts
