The Treesponsibility Gathering Fri 11th - Sunday 13th Nov

“Climate change of another kind – connectedness, community and love of the land”.

This year’s annual gathering will take place near Hebden Bridge, in the largest area of ancient woodland in West Yorkshire. In addition to tree-planting at a beautiful hillside site, there will be plenty of other stuff going on:- creative activities for kids, old and young; information workshops; guided walks; and visits to sites of interest. Each morning will begin with an opening circle, and there will be a full programme of theatrical and musical entertainments culminating in a party and fire show on Saturday night.
Bring planting boots and dancing shoes!
Accommodation:- Bunk beds in scout hostels with all food included in the price. £75

Solstice Tree Planting Fri 16thto Sun 18th Dec.

The earth cries out I am beautiful, love me…it needs an active love. This weekend combines tree-planting with ritual, dance, drama and music, celebrating the turning of the year. Accommodation is at the St. John’s Centre, Cragg Vale. We will be sleeping in two large rooms with comfortable air mattresses. The centre is well equipped with hot showers, and pleasant communal space. £75

Treesponsibility New Year’s Planting Fri 30th Dec to Sun1st Jan

Treesponsibility ‘s New Year’s day tree-planting has been a popular event in the local calendar and this year we are making a full weekend of it and providing accommodation for people coming from further afield. Planting will take place all day on the 31st January, but we won’t start before lunch on New Year’s Day to allow ourselves an evening of revelry and dancing, celebrating New Year ’s Eve with acoustic music from local musicians. Accommodation and food at St. John’s Centre Cragg Vale, including a vegetarian feast.

All our food is vegetarian using organic and local produce wherever possible. Special diets can be catered for by prior arrangement. We encourage our visitors to use public transport where ever possible. The Calder Valley has regular trains to Leeds and Manchester and we can arrange pick ups from the station.
