Not sure if this belongs in here, but ...

A plane has crashed into an apartment building in NYC.
People are trapped but as of now, no indication of terrorism.

This brings 9/11 back in a heart breaking way.

Prayers for all involved! :(

NEW YORK -- A small airplane crashed into a residential building on New York City's Upper East Side Wednesday afternoon, killing two people.

The FBI and the Homeland Security Department said there was no evidence it was a terrorist attack.

"The initial indication is that there is a terrible accident," Homeland Security spokesman Russ Knocke said.

Nevertheless, fighter jets were scrambled over U.S. cities as a precaution, the Pentagon said.

The Federal Aviation Administration said a small, multi-engine private plane struck the 50-floor residential building at 72nd Street and York Ave.

Witnesses said the crash caused a loud noise, and burning and falling debris was seen. Flames were seen shooting out of the windows. The building was evacuated.

Burning debris fell on the streets below as firefighters shot water streams of water at the flames from lower floors.

"There's huge pieces of debris falling," said one witness who refused to give her full name. "There's so much falling now, I've got to get away."

The address of the building is 524 E. 72nd Street -- a 50-story condominium tower built in 1986 and located nearby Sotheby's Auction House. It has 183 apartments, many of which sell for more than $1 million.

Not a terrorist attack then - sure brings back memories though.
