    Missing file PRO11.MSI

    Hi.....and helpppppppp
I keep getting a message 'The feature that you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable' and then I'm asked to enter an alternative path to the installation package 'PRO11.MSI'
I cant find this file on my PC and I'm unable to install several Microsoft updates because it's missing
I've now found that some of my MS Office programmes have gone AWOL and I get the same message when I try to reinstall them.
    I'm using Win XP.
Has anyone else come across this problem and please what do I do to overcome it

    Thanks

An .msi file is a database of all the files, settings, and configuration information for the associated application. When you install Office on your computer, the .msi file is saved in a hidden folder. Without this file, Windows Installer cannot update your configuration, install optional features, or apply software updates. Office cannot be installed, repaired, or updated if the .msi file is not found.
You would need to reinstall or repair your office instalation
pro11.msi is the file for microsoft office professional edition 2003

Trouble is they didn't give me a copy when I bought the PC - just installed an OEM copy as a favour. However I spoke to the store today and they'll re-install it if I take it round to them.

Oh right cool - they dont normally do that sort of thing at shops.
Why not ask if they will give you a copy of the disk after they install it - you never know your luck.
