    Reading festival 1974 or 5
    Knebworth when Dylan played
Glastobury when Steve Hillage played late 70s

    My memory's bad
    Dylan was at Blackbush
I did go to Knebworth - but I can remember nothing except setting my hair alight.

It was either Plumpton Jazz & Blues (Chicken Shack, T-Rex, Savoy Brown, Ginger Bakers Airforce) or Isle of Wight 1969. Is so hard to remember stuff like that. Ancient mists of time ...
First festival I played was Glastonbury '93 but I didn't like it much because it was too big, faceless and we didn't get paid - then discovered that no one gets paid except big bands on the main stage. Stuff doesn't go on my CV unless is a paid job otherwise it'll be full of 'stuff.'
First festival with my son; Lyng Fair 1983. Priceless.

Mine was Reading in 1987. I went to see the Mission who were headlining and I did see them, but unfortionately for the Mission in my mind, is that they were on after a band that i had never heard of before called the Fall.... Still a massive Mark E Smith fan to this day, don't really care much for the Mission.... I went to Reading again in 1988 but then Glasonbury in 1990.... I was in the Travellers field when everything went mental and the band who were playing on Wango Reyleighs travelling stage just turned up the volume and played faster to add a sound track to what now is called the battle of Yeoman's Bridge..... Was anyone there...?

mine was one of the Albion Fairs - i think Rougham Tree Fair or Ling. I was 6, remember walking amongst trees with the first love of my life! Never looked back! Still prefer the small ones - (harlequin fayre plug! -

Hi everyone, my first festival was Isle of Wight 1970, I was only 14 and it really was an amazing experience.Of course at the time you don't realise you are going down in history, but the 1970 festival is now legendary. It really was that good. I've never been back to the IOW but as this year is the 40th anniversary, I am planning to be there on the same dates in August and kind of retrace my steps and sit in the field ! From what I've heard lots of people have been doing this pilgrimage ever since 1970 and lots stayed on the island for good.If anyone reading this knows whether there will be any kind of celebrations there to mark the occasion or if there will be any gatherings at Freshwater or on Afton Down please let me know. Thank you.
