    Mermaids?

I've just watched the documentary on Animal Planet, which was first aired a couple of years ago, called "Mermaids- The Body Found" and I really don't know what i believe after watching it!! I am very open to the notion that there is other intelligent life in this universe, but part of me feels I've just spent the best part of 2 hours watching an elaborate hoax. There was just something about the documentary which felt "off" to me. This was possibly not helped by the fact that there was a lot of CGI in it and the scientist looked a lot like Zach Galifianakis in Due Date! The follow up, which they showed directly afterwards featured some interesting "footage" but again, I still feel a bit odd about it! Has anyone else seen it? If you google "Mermaids- The Body Found" It brings up some of the videos used in the show. Watch out if you watch the one filmed by 2 boys on a beach- it scared the bejeesus out of me!!

I'd really like to believe they're out there- anyone else have any thoughts?

There was some at the 3Wishes Faery Fest..............and some in a shop in Dawlish..........but, the oceans are so deep and we've hardly touched them, so who knows what might be down in the murky depths ??

Hi Paul, I saw that just now! Actually quite disappointed! But in a way glad, as it didn't feel right anyway! I can't believe that they presented it as an actual documentary though!

This reminds me of one of my foster daughters recently, shes 8. She caught a fairy and made her wish telling me that it never comes true despite making the same wish every time. She asked me if I wanted to know what it was. I told her she could tell me if she wanted to. Thinking she would say she wanted to be out of foster care and back home, I had to hold my laughter in when she whispered "I always wish I could be a mermaid!"

we watched it lastnight funnily enough...started with the 40min documentary and both felt that everyone was acting...blatant body language showing lying...thought we'd give the "documentary" a go and both felt it was a load of old bollocks lol ...so am very glad to read here that it is infact a hoax.
