    Wilsons' Orchard, 5:00pm to 7:30pm

This be a New Year event, whereupon members of Northampton's South Court Environmental (SCE) and families and other members of the public come together in Wilson's Orchard to wake up the trees.
This is done by singing, dancing, making a noise, and eating and drinking, and generally making merry.

(There is never any sign of any trees being woken by this procedure, in fact at the present time, considering the mild weather, perhaps not many of them have gone to sleep. Certainly there is no proof that such antics result in a better harvest. However, it is a traditional fun scene for people rather than trees, and there is no fee to enter the enchanted orchard). Wellington boots, torch, and suitable outdoor clothing must be considered essential.

Wassail in Dorking tomorrow, 16.30 at the Pilgrim.

Morris dancing at the Pilgrim, the brewery and then at the community orchard - always a good do in the past - mulled cider etc up at the Orchard, and a big bonfire.

    :-)

    Wilsons' Orchard, 5:00pm to 7:30pm

We've just had Peter Nalder, CEO of South Court Environmental, (the outfit who organise this Wassail) on the phone to say that it has been postponed until tomorrow, Sunday 10th, because of bad weather expected here later today.

Same time tomorrow, and same place.

Sorry about this, all you hundreds who were going to descend on Wilsons' Orchard - do it tomorrow instead!

    Keith.
