In Truth I Be Having No As You Call It "Ambitions" ....Because I Am Simply Me ...
And So I Think Simply...Act Simply And Live Day By Day And Night By Night Simply....And Am Happy Being Free And Wild And Bouncie Me....

So For Me 'Ambition' As You Call It Be...Would Be Meaning To Be Living In Forward Of Time Of Times...In Front Or Long Ways In Front ....Which As I Say ...Is Not Simply Me.

And So Because I Be Happy Living Simply Bouncing And Dancing Around Living Loving And Laughing As Me Be....
Each New Born Sunrise ...Is All I Need For Me ...If That Be Making Sense hahaha

    )

And I Have Seen Many A People With This "Ambition" You Speak Off ....And Some Yes..Need To Have It And Have One To Make Them Happy And Something To Look Forward At ...Which Is Good For Them ....And Sadly Too I Have Seen People With "Ambition" Which Has Taken Over Their Heart Mind Body Spirit And Changed Them Be Into Sadly Something Uggly And Bad...

So I See This "Ambition" As Light And Dark...And It Depends On Which People Choose To Be And Have.
But For Me....As Say ....I Not Want It This Ambition ...As I Be Simply Happy Being Me Danann

"Ambition" and "goal in life" mean pretty similar thinks but you have just split the difference Danann! Thanks for illustrating my poor choice of words. Your goal in life is to be you, you have concepts of being yourself and bounciness which are your goal. So you have already arrived when so many of us are still travelling and others are wondering which way to go. Congratulations!

I always fancied being a porn star.... is that classed as an ambition?
Probably it is just whimsy. Had you said "I can't live with myself until I become a porn star", that would have sounded more like ambition.

The problem is a lot of our ambitions are restricted. This can be societal restrictions or our own self-created restrictions, mainly fear.
Not to mention lack of imagination, which itself is fear of a kind.

This Is My Reply To What Is Said Above ..
Dont Know Why Its Joined It As One As I Never Wtote Above
The Best And Only Way To Get To Your Be "Goals In Life" Is " To Do It And Get There SIMPLY" ..
Because If You Can Do All Things Simply
And Enjoy Simple Things In Life
And Understand And Accept That "The Simple Things In Life Give You More Love Peace And Happiness In Life That What You Be Thinking That You Need To Reach And Go Get And Look Too ....Like Say ...
"The Bigger Things In Life That You Feel Are Better .Than Simply Just Being You And Being Happy With What You Have And What You Are ..
Instead Of Be The Need And Belief To Be "A Bigger Better You" ....And Think Higher All The Time Rather Than Thinking And BeingTruly Happy With Simply Who And Where And What You Simply Be And Are .....
Then You Will Have Reached Your Goal In Life ...
Because A Goal Really Mean And Be Something That You Want To Do Or Have Or Be ....Etc.....
So If You Live Love Act Enjoy And Be Happy Living And Loving The Simple Things In Life And A Simple Way And Live Each Day By Day And Night By Night ...And Not Live And Look In Forward Times Only ...
You Would Of Reached Your Goal Already Because As I Say Before..."A Goal Is What You Think Will Bring You Happiness And Make You Happy And Good And Proud Etc Etc....
But If You Are Already Simply Happy And Proud And Feel Good Being Simply You.....Then You Have Found "Your Goal" ....And You Will Have Peace True Peace And Happiness ....Soooo
Instead Of Always Looking Out Your Eyes In Forward Times At Things..And Instead Of Always Reaching Out To Something That You Always Seem To Never Can Touch And Grab Hold Off As You Just Miss It With Each Grab ...And Never Not Close Enough....So You Just Keep Reaching And Reaching And Try To Keep Grabbing It ...
Which Then Makes You Sad And Angry And Never Truly Happy ...With Yourself Or Anything Around You In Your Heart Mind Body Spirit ....
Stop Simply Doing That...And Look And Only See The Simple Real You....The Real Simple Things All Around You And See The Real Beauty In All The Simple Thimgs In Life

Then And Only Then Will You Feel True Love Peace And Happiness And Truly Know And Feel And Live Love Laugh And Bounce As "Simply Being You...And Always Being You...Nothing More...Nothing Less....Just Simply YOU"

[QUOTE=NickJ;1538055]Not so much government trained but the whole industry is about courses. Many of which are sub standard. But when the government want to push employment figures up they put funding into different industries.

A personal trainer typically would be someone who can help you achieve a physical fitness or even a health goal in a safe way ideally using there experience and expertise.

Some personal trainers would specialise in weight loss. Some specialise in aesthetic appearance such like a body builder or bikini model. Others specialise in working with cardiac recovery patients. Its a very diverse field.

I never wanted to work in a big gym and have to pay £500+/month for the privilege. I opted to start my own gym/training studio. Somewhat nieve and ignorant to what you need to do in terms of marketing and all the other business stuff.

Plus fitness is a hard sell. Everyone wants the results but dont necesarily want to do the hard work.

That Is Soooo True ....People Want Better...Want The Results ..Want..Want...But Do Not Want To Craft It ..With Hard Work .And Give Time To See Results ....
Nope Nada ..People Of Mans Workd Just Want It Now..Now...Without Them Be Doing All The Hardness...They Want And Give Little ...But Want The Mountain NOW . Instead Of Walking Up The Mountain First...Then Because They Find It Hard To Walk Up The Mountain They Give Up And Moan Moan Moan.

So Just Simply Enjoy And Be Happy And Not Stress Over Others Laziness And Little By Little Your Mind Body Heart And Spirit Will Grow And Be At Peace And No Stress And You Will See Your Business Grow Too ...
As When You Throw Out And Give Out Positive Happy Vibrations ...ATTRACT...Positive Happy Vibrations Too...
And Little By Little You Will Too Be At The Top Of Ypur Own Mountain And Bouncing As You Have Took The Hard Journey And Even Though It Was Hard And You Stumble Over Loose Rocks That Fell Along The Way You Have Walked Up Your Own Mountain And Did It Feeling Happy Too ...And Being Simply You ..

Ambitions? Why would you have those? Nobody belongs anywhere, nobody exists on purpose, everybody's going to die.

I think ambitions are good , as it is both pleasing and satisfying when they are achieve . I suppose having unrealistic ambitions could be frustrating though . Best to set your goal posts wide

My only ambition is to make it through each day and not go insane from the stupidity that often accompanies modern life.

My ambition is to lighten up. Chill out, take every opportunity to enjoy the simpler things about life. Watch the kids grow up and not get hung up about the things out of my control. Life is a precious thing, stressing it away hasn't worked too well in the last ten years.
even a gypsy caravan is too much settling down.

In short, no. I've never really been ambitious; just bumbled my way though life. I would like to work as little as possible and still be able to live a fairly comfortable life, so I suppose that would count as an ambition?

Ambition is a fine thing and I'm all for it BUT folk need to remember to work to live, not live to work.

Whatever your belief system, you only get this one chance to be YOU - make the most of it whilst remembering that, whereas you can put pockets in a shroud, those pockets don't allow you to take it with you!!!

If you are a JAM, that is, IMHO, just as true and, on the other hand, there really is no benefit to being dead and rich unless you've spent all that you possibly can helping others whilst having an enjoyable life yourself

I've never had what most people think of as ambitions, either.

Most I have in that direction is listing down a few items I need to get done, followed by a few I'd like to get done, and getting started on the most necessary first.

Never get them all done, of course, but it kind of keeps me going in the right direction

Thats the battle I always have with work.. the managers sat in the office think nothing about asking us to do 12 hour shifts. In my case having to go on nights if I didnt want to lose out on overtime.

I dont mind working my 39 hours. Dont mind the occasional overtime but 4 weeks of 12 hour nights is enough for me. I dont think they're too impressed but I've no interest in working other than to help me enjoy my life.

I just cant get my head around some of the others who will work 60 hours week in week out just so they can pay for their Audi's.

I'd rather not have a flash car. Or the stress of paying for it. What good is it doing parked on the factory car park.

So many people are trying to live beyond their means nowadays.

I guess my ambition is to learn to live on a normal months wage. If I do overtime its because I want to and I'll see the benefit.

I think we would probably be more understanding of the pressure that they feel obliged to put on those they manage if those managers actually owned the business. Too often they lose sight of the fact that they are just employees like the folk they have to manage.

The trouble with living in today's society is that it has convinced almost everyone it is a culture of every (wo)man for themself and so neither the employer nor the employee feels any obligation to the other. If that really is progress, I'm happy that there once was a time where loyalty cut both ways and that, unless you screwed up, you could keep the same job until you retired. Now everyone has to spend time looking over their shoulder and making sure they do enough not to be moved too far up the "lets get rid of this person next" list.

I can hazard a guess their bonus structure is a damn sight better than my paltry £30 I see every now and then. As well as their salary.

Ambitions for me are nowadays having achieved most of my long time ones are of a much shortere time scale.

One is to finish the steps and walls next week that I am rebuilding at the mo and hopefully have the clients when they next visit their house,be dazzled by the great work done. Also that they will feel really happy that they have got their money's worth out of me.

Another ambition at the moment is to try and turn ukh more positive than it has been lately, and you all can help me with that one. Think about the posts that you are writing and the knock on effect that they may have on others.

Dylan thomas wrote - Ambition is critical. He was right.

My all new ambition is to be a sky traveller. I've had the rucksack, thumbed lifts, trains, planes and buses. I've had the horsedrawn wagon. Loads of different live in motorvehicles. But I'm wanting to see the Country from up above. I'm fascinated by this visual dimension. To see how industry and infrastructure nestles into the surroundings. See where the canalboats are moored. Fly over woodlands, dales and valleys. See the Country in perspective.
When we travelled horsedrawn I remember all those in motorvehicles who passed by at 40mph. They didn't get to see the mare and foal in the field behind the hedgerow or the flowers growing in the grass verge. Those passengers and motorists missed so much along their journey. Well I now think we have all missed out on our journey. To see it from above (a birds eye view) So my ambition is to see more of it from above, from hot air balloons, from jellychopters, from handgliders, from light aircraft. I've been gliding before but needed to be very high for thermals (too high to see anything smaller than a farm house) in that part of the country. I really want to be much lower to see far more detail on the ground and all the man made structures. So there I go a sky traveller I be wanting to be. One challenge a year. Looks Like I can try most types for less than £200 for 30 minutes at various locations in the UK
