Using MDF. Was thinking of drilling ventilation holes into it but not sure if it will work. The idea was to stack the mattress if I needed a larger cooking space so most of the time the bed will be set up.

I've been recomended to do the same but I've also read not too. Guessing it may give the moisture chance to get to the middle of the wood.

At the minute I air off once side of the other of my bed daily. It keeps on top of it.

I've seen some bed base matting that leaves an air gap on the internet about 40 for a double. I'm going to try it so i'll update you when I get it and see how it goes.

Might be worth sealing the wood with varbish or something but I'm not sure if that would make it worse as the wood might be colder on the surface.

I haven't put any holes in for now. Currently sleeping on my new mattress but inside the house. For the money I'm not overly impressed. Maybe it's just not being used to memory foam but it's not the all singing all dancing comfort that the adverts describe.
