    Electrics tonight

    Hey up.
Right I got sick of all the light wires hanging around so I did second fit.
Even tho the battery holder isn't inand the solar's not wired up.
Anyway, my home-made downlights work a treat, so thats good. As does the LED converted bulkhead light.

Does anyone know why I can't upload pics direct? Says I'm out of quota but I've nt been able to upload for ages. And the pics are 100k each.

Anyway, pics on google photos as usual:

USB reading light above where the bed will go

    And a view from outside

Tomorrow it gets a tidy up and the stove installed! Yay! And start on the bed platform.
    All good.

If you use image tags round your picture urls like [img]yourimageurl[/img] you should end up with some pics.

Works if you click the link above, then click the pic that opens and then right click view pic, and then link that URL, I assume its googles way of trying to stop you using them as an image host..

It would probably be far easier to use an alternative host such as https://imgsafe.org/
Im using them after my photofucket misadventures and seems ok.

    Broken back

As in, I think I have broken my back... rather than, I've broken the back of it...
    Though, that too!!!

Rick, thanks for the tip on linking pics.

OK, so today, put in Julian's burner and built the bunk beds/sofa...

    Pics:

Start of the frame for Willow's bed:

Found a sheet of stainless to put the stove on (cut from a Wombled broken dishwasher)

So, two bunk beds (the bottom one opens to storage, and I think will convert to a sofa when I see what the mattress is like...), stove installed. I'm needing a beer! Or 3..

    Looking good there!
It's interesting it looks like you are having a high level bed.
Personally I would put the bed on the floor, and have storage above it.

That's a whole debate on its own!

Bunk beds vs storage above.... the reason...

So, the long running bed-inna-van debate.

My simple answer is this: The reason for this van project is because Willow (age 11) has decreed that she doesn't like the way I build benders, doesn't like nylon nightmares*, and really quite fancies a van (after hanging with some van dwellers last year at various small festies).

We're doing Nowhere Burn in Zaragoza and Nest in Cornwall and another burn in Denmark, so I wanted something stealth and reasonably fast - so no 7.5 tonners. A small van it is. We looked at Lutons vs boxes and din't really have a preference, and then this one came up.

Clearly we need two beds, and I wanted enough room in the rest of the van for living in. So, bunk bed, with the bottom bed used as a sofa. It's not designed for permanent living, but long weekends and weekly jaunts.

    So. That's the reason.

    * yes clearly she is a precious snowflake. But who am I to argue? I wanted a van too!!!

Tents are for masochists, or people who are genuinely worried about the zombie apocalypse...
