When I had mine my sister had one too. I called mine Rosie - as it had rosette coat. My sisters was Susie.

Dad built a nice little house with a run attached to protect them from our cat.

After a few weeks it became evident that Rosie was actually a boy. The nice little house and run was quickly fitted with a barrier right down the middle, which worked well.

My kids had several guinea pigs many years ago and the one thing I remember is they used to whistle loudly and do a tidy job of grass cutting.

Guinea pigs were an improvement on our first childhood pet - Timmy the Hamster. Parents obviously didn't know that Timmy would be nocturnal, we never saw him in the daytime, but at 1am he would be racing around his exercise wheel like the devil was on his tail.

I can't remember what happened to Timmy, I suspect it wasn't a long and happy retirement.

The pictures come out better if they're in their plane closure because the kids to dark
Correction the cage is too dark
Besides I can bribe them with salad to stay still so pictures can be taken

That grass will go down well. Just amazes me the amount they get through.

Too cute Maddy!Funny story re guinea pigs.My two daughters had them as pets in Australia.Fairly often,if we went for a walk(We lived in a small country town)my kids would take the g/pigs with them.My youngest daughter had a jacket on,and was cuddling her guinea pigs, holding it under her jacket. We stopped walking for a second, and all I could see was a line of guinea pig wee coming from underneath her jacket!
