    Small plucked zithers

Does anybody here play small plucked zithers? Also known as melody harps or lap harps?
IPlayer usual freestanding one but was given one last year and have since bought three made out of spruce for the soundboard and maple for the top
The one I was given needs all the strings changing the frame cleaning given annoying and the strings replaced that one is made out of Cherry Wood
It would sound nice if the strings weren't dead

I've got a 32 string autoharp, well 31, ones missing if that's the same family. I'd wombled it with a view of learning after hearing one at a local folk session but it's still at the thinking stage.

A lad was offering it free on a recycle site but initially changed his mind as the carboot merchants turned up for it which annoyed him. He gathered I was a hoarder of things that might come in use one day so he was happy for me to have it as long as I didn't sell it for profit. There's a half decent music shop in Stourport which I was going to try for the missing string.

I'm going to build a lap harp next year, probably late next year as there is a Triple Harp and possibly a replica of a Wurlitzer concert harp to do first.

I love the fact that they sound like traditional Scottish wire string harps but much more portable
