    Did you know we've had commercial cross-channel ferries since 1821?

    I found the whole history of cross-channel travel fascinating.

    Im sure being an island nation weve had ferries far longer than that though probably not RO-RO style.Being easier to ferry goods around a coastline rather than across country im sure they must have worked it out that they can hop across the channel too.If they hadnt worked that out they would havebeen pretty lousy sailors.Ill read the link later.
    Hebridean at heart..everywhere else is just somewhere on the way back there...
