So looking forward to this. Not. Looks like Therisa May is running off just like Cameron did.
That said, it doesn't look good for the labour party....

She/they have nothing to loose and all to play for. Shame Labour have morphed into such a shambles. UKIP couldturn this into a circus andwe end up with a TAX haven for money wizards and counterfeit wealth. Scotland gets independence and we see the dark ages of political uncertainty for a long long time.
Run with the fox and hunt with the hounds. Be carful not to pick up to eat any carrion. It could be deliberately laced with poison. Trust only yourselves, those dark ages.

“I’m not going to be calling a snap election. I’ve been very clear that I think we need that period of time, that stability, to be able to deal with the issues that the country is facing and have that election in 2020.” - Theresa May, September 2016

I could see labour doing well with folk who voted remain. Also, I wonder if the public will still be daft enough to vote for more Tory Austerity and cuts. This could be interesting. I also hope Sturgeon takes advantage of this for Scottish independence. I can not wait to see what happens

May repeatedly tells Scots now is not the time for a second referendum because of the instability it would cause at this time, & said she'd not call a snap general election as recently as last month because it would also cause instability.
So she calls a snap election! A politician we can all trust obviously.

She has called it now because in 2020 a hard Brexit will be at its worst point then, she will be extremely unpopular and less likely to do as well as now, there is so much rumbling going on in Labour right now that'll help her too, I just hope with the recent regrets that a lot of voters have expressed it'll get them off of their arses to do something about it.

Gosh, I really hope Labour and the lib dems can get their shit sorted out ASAP, bring the parties together to get those nasty Tories out.

I can live with a Brexit, , just not with a Tory version of a socially irresponsible, money for the rich, nothing for the poor Brexit, the EU did temper Tory stupidity.

The Tories are currently under investigation for possible election fraud where they failed to fully declare election expenses. If the case were proven they might lose seats and their majority. This way they hope to win seats legitimately .

It's actually good stuff! At least we're going to get rid of the obsolete Labour party and hopefully a new Left of Centre party will come out as a result.

I can imagine the Tory party splitting. The Remainers will be ostracised by T. Mayhem and will leave the party, joining maybe some anti-Corbyn Labour and the Lib Dem.

How to vote tactically to stop the Tories.

    I am thinking:

A lot of people who voted remain, will not vote Tory

Scotland voted to remain and the only way for them to get EU membership is through independence, which the tories do not want, so there goes a lot of Tory votes in Scotland.

As I said above in previous posts, do people really want more austerity and cuts, another reason not to vote Tory.

If the Tories win the election there is the possibility of them getting a shit hard brexit deal which will damage the Tories reputation in the long term, especially if we end up on WTO Tariffs.

If the Tories lose, maybe labour could scrape through or even form a coalition government with lib-dems, might be better than the shower of shite we have now.

I am quite excited by this general election, it could be christmas come early.

As only 37 percent of the electorate voted in the Brexit referendum perhaps the thought of the Tory party ripping the country to shreds might inspire a few more to get of their arse and use one of the only legitimate ways left to try and stop them? Imagine the scenario if Teresa May was decimated by the ballot box...we could all say well 'It's the will of the people' now do one love!

Everyone has a right to comment on politics, even if they do not like what is on offer. I am more for direct democracy like switzerland, rather than representative democracy. I will be voting in this general election because I despise the Tory party and everything they stand for. I hope labour win, or at the least we end up with a coalition government. I do not want to see more Tory driven bullshit cuts and austerity.

I will be out of the country in June but for the first time ever am applying for a postal vote. Every little helps!
I do hope the people of this country (i.e. all four nations) realise that the calling of this election is against everything that has been said about the need for stability with the Brexit discussions looming on the horizon and the need to show a united front.
Go on Theresa, show them what you're made of! Disingenuity and bullshit!

I'd like to see Corbyn win, the guy actually cares about people, which is probably why the main stream media dislike him so much. Imagine the reaction from the wankers who own the main stream media if Corbyn wins.

It's also why the party rank and file members like and trust him and why many in the parliamentary party hate him. Like most MP's they are more interested in keeping their job and all the perks that go with it than actually supporting a leader who holds true socialist values!
