I think the thing is with these people is they don't understand that a lot of people who live an alternative lifestyle in an unusual house are not attracted to the bright lights of TV

many of us don't even have a TV

A bunch of friends and I go involved in a Sky TV production that was supposed to run over a weekend where the presenters would travel with us and use their "celebrity" to blag things for us to do, a whole lot of stuff was promised that never happened.

The presenters showed up a day late leaving the crew to try to look after us and arrange something to film, when we finally all got moving the consistently failed to get anything sorted, mainly from lack of effort, at one point they buggered off completely and left us all hanging for four hours. The camp site location they finally came back with for us to stay on turned out to be a family site that we found out wasn't going to allow us back on site if we left and then weren't back there by 9pm AND they were on the ball about noise so we were forced into an early night.

Now the fact it was shit isn't really connected with this thread, but what happened afterwards IS, they aired the show, they used film they'd shot at other times to make it look like the presenters were getting all sorts of stuff and then edited the rest to make it look like we'd been the "boring" lot that wouldn't do anything except moan and want top go to bed early.

This is the trouble with TV, they WILL edit the show to get what they want no matter what happens.

Here is a few of us dressed up like twats while waiting at a services, we did a lot of waiting.....

It had an interesting life while it was with me that car did!

Eventually swapped it on a mint black 2.8i Capri and the poor guy got rear ended on his way home and the 4i was written off, shame, they are a lot rarer than Capris are now.

i swapped a arthur daley type jag xj6 for a 2.8 laser capri. not one of them was worth the price of the road tax. always fancied a 4i or early xr4x4. think ive had about 5 or 6 mk2 xr2's. are they rs turbo recaro's??

Possibly, can't remember off the top of my head where I got them from, it had the quite rare Efi version of the 2.8 in it as well, only fitted in the last of the mk3 granny 2.8s. made about 10bhp less but a shit load more torque so it went alright, fairly light cars the old 4is.

The french versions of the xr4x4s came with the 2.8 , 4wd obviously, and the cossiestyle single rear window. Just 10 years ago they were cheap as chips, I always thought that was the best of the best 80s Ford wise.

I had a 4x4 2.9 ex police granada Scorpio, complete with large hole in the dash from where they ripped the vascar unit out. Went pretty well, but boy did it drink some petrol...
